Your rights, the 24-hour rule & change fees
What you can cancel, change, or get back — explained honestly before and after you book.
U.S. Department of Transportation rules give you the right to cancel most tickets for a full refund within 24 hours of booking, as long as the flight is at least 7 days away. This applies to virtually every airline selling in the U.S. — including Basic Economy fares. It's the single most valuable consumer protection in air travel, and we'll always remind you of your window when you book.
Most U.S. carriers eliminated change fees on standard economy and above for domestic travel — you pay only the fare difference. Basic Economy remains generally unchangeable and non-refundable. International tickets vary widely by fare class, which is exactly why we read your fare rules aloud before you pay.
If the airline cancels your flight or significantly changes the schedule, you're entitled to a full refund to your original payment method — not just a voucher — under DOT rules, even on non-refundable fares. Booked through FlexFare, you call us and we handle the rebooking or refund paperwork instead of you holding for the airline.

Your ticket's fare rules govern refundability, and we disclose them before purchase. The 24-hour DOT window applies to bookings made through us just as it does to airline-direct bookings.
DOT requires refunds within 7 business days for credit card purchases. In practice, expect the credit within one to two statements.
Outside the 24-hour window, only refundable fares allow that. If flexibility matters, say so — refundable options often cost less extra than people assume.
